Konrad Reuland, a 29-year-old tight end for the Baltimore Ravens, died in mid-December of the brain aneurysm that struck him down in November. He wasn’t a great NFL star. Rod Carew is 70, a fact that’s a cold bucket of water in the face for baseball fans who idolized the Minnesota Twins and California Angels hitter, one of the best pure hitters in the history of baseball.
